Solutions by Compacting Process

Our compacting and baling solutions for efficient waste management

Choosing the right compaction technology can be challenging, especially with so many baling solutions available on the market. Many businesses base their decision on work habits, past experience, or the availability of equipment in their region—but these factors don’t always lead to the most efficient or cost‑effective outcome. At Kadant PAAL, we manufacture a full range of compaction and baling solutions, allowing us to recommend the technology that truly fits your operational needs. Our tailored approach ensures you achieve maximum performance, improved material handling efficiency, and the lowest possible operating costs. Explore our process‑based baling and compaction options below to find the ideal solution for your workflow.

What is a Channel Baler?

A continuous feed channel baler is a fully automatic horizontal baling press engineered for high‑volume waste compaction, enabling uninterrupted, high‑throughput production of dense and stable bales. This advanced baling solution allows operators to adjust bale length according to predefined parameters, ensuring consistent output across different material streams. Depending on your application, the bale can be automatically tied horizontally, vertically, or crosswise, providing flexibility for various compaction requirements. The number of tying wires varies by channel baler model, allowing you to choose the most efficient and cost‑effective configuration for your waste processing operation.

What is a Twin Ram Baler?

The twin‑ram baler compacts material against a solid wall inside a fixed‑size chamber, ensuring a completely uniform bale size. This high‑performance compaction technology ejects each finished bale perpendicularly, and thanks to PAAL’s patented telescopic ejection tunnel, the bale is automatically strapped while the next bale is being compacted. This continuous, overlapping process maximizes throughput, improves efficiency, and delivers a highly reliable automatic baling solution for operations requiring consistent, high‑density bale production.

What is a Can Baler?

The can baler compresses aluminium or steel cans against a closed door, using powerful compaction technology to achieve maximum volume reduction. Once the defined number of compaction strokes is complete, the door opens and the finished pack is ejected lengthwise. Thanks to the baler’s high specific pressing force, the material crimps tightly together, forming a stable, dense package without the need for any tying or strapping. This makes the can baler an efficient and cost‑effective baling solution for operations seeking reliable, low‑maintenance metal can compaction.

What is a Semi-Automatic Baler?

The material is compacted against a closed door using reliable baling and compaction technology, forming a dense, stable bale within a fixed chamber. Once the bale reaches its defined size, the manual tying process is completed by the operator to secure the material. After tying, the bale is ejected lengthwise via the control panel, providing a simple, efficient, and cost‑effective baling solution for operations that require controlled output and flexible bale handling.
